AOTA 2012: A Great Experience
I've just returned from Indianapolis, where I exhibited PointScribe at AOTA 2012. Wow.
In the three years I have been representing PointScribe around the country, I've had the opportunity to attend a variety of shows. My experience last week at AOTA was by far the very best ever. The caliber, professionalism and passion of every single person who stopped by my booth was unparalleled. Thank you all for your enthusiasm and interest in our product.
Conversations were high energy and I could tell from the questions I was being asked that people understood PointScribe and its relevance in today's special education environment. What more could I ask for? I was delighted to provide nearly three hundred free licenses of software for these individuals to explore with their own students and look forward to hearing their response and feedback.
Also at the conference were familiar faces from: SouthPaw (in particular their Sens-Aura product line), Experia (see their very cool new iPad app) , and Proxtalker (see new videos on their website) to name a few. Always great to see you.
Here's a new find this year worth your time to check out: Advance My Baby (a must have book for new moms, best shower gift ever)!

PointScribe for Under $100? Yes!
Heading for the airport soon to catch a plan to Indianapolis where I will be sharing the latest iteration of PointScribe--- PointScribe delivered via low cost subscriptions (!!!) with the OTs at AOTA 2012.
I can't wait.
This version of PointScribe, how it's deployed and it's new price points represent a long journey to make the product and the way we provide it even better suited to our audience. And, it will allow us to expand our audience to parents!
This new model is not yet posted on our website, but I'd be happy to send you the details directly if you would like to dash me an email. CLICK HERE.
Here's a teaser in the meantime... imaging having PointScribe to use with your student, son, or daughter for the school year, for just $99?!

Back from ATIA with Fresh Perspectives, New Connections
I've just returned from Orlando after five days soaking up the sun and the incredible energy at ATIA. I particularly enjoy this conference each year because attendees are so very focused on problem solving and how the products and services --- both new and rediscovered --- might help them better serve their customers: teachers, OTs and students from across the country.
I love sharing PointScribe with people who immediately jump two steps ahead of me and "get" how our software will benefit a student or educator they work with. So much more than a product demonstration, it becomes an exciting, dynamic exchange of ideas.
As usual, I saw many familiar vendor faces: Vizzle, Laureate Learning, Judy Lynn Software, AAC Tech Connect and Prox Talker. I also enjoyed and appreciated all of our existing customers who took the time to come to our booth and say hello.
New and noteworthy from this trip:

What a Difference a Year Makes!
What a Difference a Year Makes!
We've had an amazing year here at PointScribe, moving---no, more like rocketing!---from our original version of PointScribe to its current version that takes handwriting education to an unprecedented level of effectiveness and engagement.
We're ending 2011 with a completely different PointScribe than we started it with.

PointScribe Tutor
PointScribe Tutor: innovative artificial intelligence that automatically advances the skill level of each and every shape for you! Handwriting accuracy and completion performance goals are set by the educator; PointScribe Tutor takes care of everything else. The lessons begin with large, easy to complete shape sizes. Each time the student writes a shape, Tutor gathers and analyzes handwriting data. When the student's handwriting proficiency meets the success goals set, PointScribe uses that data to automatically advance her on to the next challenge level (smaller shape size).
Visual Cue Advancement
PointScribe lessons include visual cues that are fun, engaging, and instructive---gently and consistently guiding students through the formation of shapes. PointScribe reinforces newfound skills by systematically removing the start and stop point visual cues and the stroke sequence visual cues, ultimately leading the student to write every letter, number, and shape properly and consistently from memory. Visual Cue Advancement happens automatically and is based on data driven factors and other teaching options set by you.
Enhanced Reporting & Data Collection
PointScribe's powerful database generates six easy to interpret Handwriting Proficiency Reports that can be created in seconds. The reports provide a wealth of valuable handwriting information for accurate analysis, assessments, and intervention. Reports for students or classrooms, print and email easily for sharing.

On Screen Scoring Graphics & Animation
On-screen scoring graphics inform and motivate students in a familiar video gaming format to keep students engaged.Students stay motivated with on-screen scoring graphics that provide them with real-time information and visual and audible rewards as they move up to higher and higher levels in "the game." Scoring shows current challenge level (stars) and progress toward advancement (bars).

Classroom Mode
Teaching handwriting to the entire classroom has never been more "automated" and easy! Classroom mode monitors and manages the amount of PointScribe time for each student. With a few clicks, you can launch a lesson for an entire classroom! PointScribe is like having another teacher in the classroom, specializing in handwriting, and freeing up time for the teacher to continue working with the other students.

Mastery Status & Tracking
The Mastery Tracking & Status feature serves a dual purpose in PointScribe. For students, Mastery Status provides a visual display of which shapes they have succeeded in completely mastering in each shape library, and their overall progress toward mastering all shapes. Printable certificates are also available. Behind the scenes, it focuses on the learning experience. When Mastery Status is enabled, it automatically removes shapes that have been mastered from any lesson content presented. The student is only presented with shapes not yet completely mastered.

Student Preferences
The Student Preferences Manager allows you and your student to quickly and easily design and save a customized learning environment that best matches the student's interests. Save each student's favorite colors, themes, music, sounds, etc. so that personalized lesson content is presented each time the student uses PointScribe, maximizing their engagement. Lesson Editor
PointScribe displays everything you need to create, customize, and administer dynamic lesson content ---from one location---the Lesson Editor screen. Within seconds, and with just few clicks, begin teaching, assessing or building targeted intervention strategies personalized for one student or every student in your classroom.
